Transformations

The remodeling that began in 2007 was finally completed during the beginning of 2008, so in many ways, 2008 was the year of the house for me. I spent the next few months happily redecorating and thoroughly enjoying our newly remodeled home. Oh, and cleaning my lovely remodeled house. The change in my housekeeping habits after all the remodeling were just as dramatic as the remodeling itself was. Though I have to admit, getting that H20 Mop and hand held steamer also contributed to my cleaning frenzy.

There was a time I dusted only when “Please Dust Me!” would appear on top of the furniture. Now, if I see even a speck of dust dare to land on any of my furniture, I freak out worse than Monk does if he sees a crooked picture. Though I have to admit, crooked pictures kind of freak me out too. As does very much clutter anymore. One reason I tend to stay out of Larry’s “Man Room” is because the clutter he has in it drives me up the wall now.

I remember a time I threatened to spray paint the cobwebs that I could no longer claim were Halloween decorations red and green, and use them for Christmas decorations. Now, the only cobwebs you will find in my house are fake ones I put up at Halloween. And those get steam cleaned when they are put up, and just before they are taken down.

By Halloween 2008, the house was in such a perfect state of perpetual tidiness I had to start looking for other ways to keep myself busy during the coming winter. In my infinite blonde wisdom I decided since I had the house looking the very best it could, I should now spend some time making sure I also looked the best I could. Discovering what a difference Dead Sea products could make to my aging skin inspired me to build my skin regime around those products.

Good skin begins from within however, so to insure the Dead Sea products could produce the best possible results, I have changed some of my eating and drinking habits. No, I haven’t gotten totally radical and become a Vegan. Get real. I’m too much of meat lover for that. My general eating habits would still send a chill down the spine of any nutritionalist. However, I do take a multi vitamin every day, and have drastically cut down on the amount of cokes I drink.

Limiting myself to only two cokes a day has produced some rather nasty side effects though as my body tries to adjust the sudden decrease in caffeine and sugar it is experiencing. I can best sum up those nasty side effects by simply saying, soda pop withdrawal can be a worse bitch than I am. I’m hanging in there though, and drinking a lot of calming chamomile tea. If nothing else, all this tea I’m sipping is damn sure insuring my system, and the toilet, are getting well flushed each day.
